Original illustrations may be commissioned for a variety of applications including: book covers & illustrations, record & CD packaging, films & documentaries, logos, and wherever the imagination leads.
Licensing for use of an original illustration generally begins at $600 per image. This base rate is subject to change depending on the application and the complexity of the image. The license entitles usage of the image for the agreed application only. License renewal may be required for any future republishing or reprinting which makes use of the image. The artist retains the original artwork, and reserves certain reproduction rights. Naturally, each job may be tailored to suit the individual needs of the client.
The process begins with a discussion, generally via email, of the concept and application, followed by a detailed sketch which demonstrates the composition. Once the drawing is confirmed, the image can be rendered as best suits the final application, be it inked, colored, painted, or otherwise. A non-refundable deposit of 25% is requested as a deposit before the final rendering. The remaining amount is due when the work is complete, and approved by the client. Any additional costs, such as scanning and shipping, are to be payed by the client.
